Why is purpose so important? 

When it comes to businesses and brands, it’s not enough just to have the best product, service, or experience anymore. People buy into VALUES – shared values with brands.

It will help you make value-based choices and keep true to what you believe and give you the courage to stand up for that belief (rather than buckling under the pressures of those who wish to manipulate for short-term gain).

Likewise for individuals, starting with a clear purpose is a great guide to how you choose to live your life – leading to the right career steps to take. 

What is The Golden Circle?

Simon Sinek is an author and leadership expert who is known to have coined the model The Golden Circle.

The Golden Circle is one of the most popular ways to help you define your purpose.

It consists of 3 concentric circles: the outer layer describes WHAT you do, the middle layer HOW you do it, and the centre is the WHY you do it.

The WHY is essentially your core purpose.

• Airbnb: “Creating a world where Anyone can Belong Anywhere”
• Nike: “To bring inspiration and innovation to every athlete in the world. If you have a body, you are an athlete.”
• Starbucks: “To inspire and nurture the human spirit — one person, one cup and one neighborhood at a time.”
• Google: “To organize the world’s information and make it universally accessible and useful.”
