Anne also offers a podcast monetisation course that can help you monetise your podcast in the most efficient way.
In this episode, Anne shares with us her journey to podcasting and how you can start using your podcast as a part of your business instead of a hobby. If you’re already a podcaster and you’re looking into going the next step to monetising, this episode is for you.
[02:31] Anne’s plan was always to become a lawyer until she realised she didn’t want to become one. Lost, she went backpacking to Southeast Asia to find herself.
[04:01] With a new plan to earn money while traveling, she learned about the digital nomad lifestyle and she knew that this is what she wanted to do.
[05:02] Anne decided to take a Virtual Assistant course and part of the course was all about podcasting, from that moment she found her niche.
[05:43] After being a freelancer and podcast manager for a year, Anne discovered that she’s not perfect as a one-man team, and that gave birth to The Podcast Babes.
[11:46] Why podcasting is still relevant and thriving in 2022.
[14:48] The key is to start, keep going, and improve as you go.
[16:42] Tip 1: Don’t get too caught up in the numbers.
[18:02] Tip 2: If you want to grow your podcast, one thing that works well is guesting on other podcasts.
[21:55] A profitable way to monetise your podcast is to sell your products or services first.
[22:09] Other ways to monetise are through creating courses, and memberships, doing virtual or in-person events, and affiliate marketing.
[22:48] One mistake that podcasters often make is believing that they need at least 1,000 or 10,000 amount of listeners to get a sponsorship.
[24:15] Reaching out to sponsors directly enables you to give them an offer that you want.
[27:37] Do not lock yourself in for a year or a long-term contracting your first brand deal with a sponsor.
[29:57] For starting podcasts, before you monetise your podcast bring value to your audience first.
[31:22] What are the big podcasting trends and predictions for 2022?
[33:42] Aside from The Podcast Babes, Anne also has another podcast called Digital Nomad Stories.
